the journey to today
2015
Heading into college to pursue a degree in digital design, Emma taught herself how to ‘hand letter”.
She came up with the name “Etchings by Emma” to describe her sketches.
2017
Emma purchased her first iPad & Apple Pencil to learn how to digitize her lettering.
In August she started in the wedding industry by hand lettering signage for L&B wedding designs.
2018
Emma branched out and helped Details Duo and other couples independently with their signage.
In December, she graduated from ASU and continued growing Etchings by Emma while working other part time jobs.
2019
In June, Emma did signs for her own wedding!
2020
In September, she went full time Etchings by Emma because she couldn’t keep up with the post pandemic demand.
Charlotte also started volunteering to pack all of the signage. They’d have “packing parties” one day a week.
2021
Charlotte officially joined the team as the admin assistant and did all Honeybook inquiries & corresponding.
Emma hand lettered beyond her physical abilities and got tendonitis as an overuse injury. This propelled a change.
2022
Emma purchased her own UV printer to continue creating signage but through a different method. (Her and Charlotte are both trained on it!) It has allowed for more creating with a lot less pain!
2024
They opened their online shop & are getting the privilege to create for even more couples & events.
